Svalbard Photography Expedition

Last year, I had the chance to knock something off my bucket list. I went on a photography expedition to Svalbard. We had a brilliant time. The landscapes are unreal, there’s wildlife everywhere, and the glaciers are out of this world. We even had an incredible experience with some polar bears. Just amazing.

As of now, there is no Svalbard photo expedition scheduled. However, if you’re interested in joining, please reach out via email or sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of this page.

The Trip Itinerary

The fun thing about doing an expedition rather than a tour is that we have the freedom to go where we want. As the trip starts, we’ll consult with the ship’s expedition team to come up with the plan that gets us the most out of the trip. We’ll formulate a plan based on the current weather and reported sightings.

Obviously, one of the biggest goals of the trip is to find polar bears. We’ll do our absolute best to get as many sightings as possible.

On this year’s trip, we’d really like to get over to the east side of Svalbard to see the glacier waterfall as well.

So, we’ll have goals, but not a set itinerary.

Photos of Svalbard

Below are some of my favourite images from last year’s trip to Svalbard. Like most on board, I took over 3000 images on the trip. I kept about 500. An extremely high number for me.
