I'm fairly sure this lady was the subject of about 100 of my photos. I could probably share dozens of her alone, but alas that would be lame. How great is her outfit!?

Oman Photography Tour

The thing I love about the photography world is how the popularity of places can ebb and flow between famous places like Iceland and Patagonia, and somehow miss the most photogenic places on the planet. Oman is one of those places. And this travel photography tour to Oman is going to show you why it deserves so much more press.

I talk a lot about the “perfect” travel photography destinations. They are those countries that have a little bit of everything: landscapes, people, culture, wildlife, and architecture. There aren’t that many countries in the world that fit that bill. Oman, however, definitely does.

Let me take you on a photography journey across this stunning country. This is the Oman Photography Tour for 2027!

The Itinerary

The goal of this trip is to give you that beautiful cross-section of Oman. To showcase the best of the various aspects of the country. We’ll travel in 4x4s and swing through villages, wadis, over mountain passes, and head deep into the desert.

Day 1 – Arrive in Muscat.
Day 2 – We’ll spend the whole day photographing the beautiful city of Muscat. We’ll visit the grand mosque, the harbour, and the markets.
Day 3 – We’ll leave Muscat and head towards the coastal town of Sur. On the way we’ll stop at places like Wadi Shab, and Tiwi Beach.
Day 4 – Our journey will continue to Raz al Jinz, a beautiful beach often frequented by sea turtles.
Day 5 – We’re heading into the desert! We’ll stay in Wahiba Sands. Sand dunes and astrophotography!
Day 6 – Our journey will continue to Nizwa where there’s one of the most impressive forts on the planet.
Day 7 – We’re going to head up to Jebel Shams, and stunning area full of impressive lansdcapes: canyons and mountains.
Day 8 – We’ll head towards the beautiful old town of Al Hamra. On the way we’ll stop in the stunning village of Misfat Al Abryeen.
Day 9 – Today is a bit of a cultural day. We’re going to Bahla Fort, Jabreen Castle and Ibri. We’ll end the day in Nizwa
Day 10 – We’re heading back to Muscat, stopping at Nakhl fort and hot springs on the way.
Day 11 – The tour ends after breakfast.

Dubai Add-on

On most of my trips, I try to include an add-on so those who want to make the most of their long travels can spend more time in the area. The add-ons are usually a bit more chill, but still have a photography purpose. This add-on will take you to Dubai.

There is the option for an add-on.

The Kotor Add-On has a mini-itinerary like this:
November 20 – Instead of flying home, you’ll tour by car to Dubai (about a 4 hour journey).
November 21 – Full day photographing the city. Sunrise at Souk Al Bahar. Evening at Dubai Canal.
November 22 – Al Fahidi Historical District, and Creek Harbour.
November 23 – Morning at Dubai Marina, sunset photographing from rooftops!
November 24 – Tour ends after breakfast. Flights home from Dubai.

The cost of the Dubai add-on is €1,500 per person. If you’d like to join, it will be added to your final payment.

FAQs for This Photo Workshop

What’s a Single Supplement?

The tour price is based on twin occupancy. That means that if you’re booking as an individual, you’ll be placed in a room with another participant of the same gender. Obviously, in seperate beds. However, if you’d like your own private room for the duration of the trip, you’ll need to book a single supplement.

Is There Lots of Hiking/Walking

No. The movement on this trip is via 4×4. There is some walking to get to better places to that the picture and in the cities, but for the most part, you’ll be driven around.

What’s the accommodation like?

The accommodation is entirely in hotel or guesthouses and they will all be at least 3-star quality. Sometimes 4-star.

What is the transport situation?

We’ll be in 4x4s – likely Toyota Land Cruisers.

Maximum participants?

We have a maximum of 11 on this trip.

Will it be Hot?

November is the best month for Oman. It’s still warm. We’ll have averages of 26-28c in Muscat. Up at higher altitudes in Jebel Shams it will about about 22c in the day, and down to about 10c at night.

Can’t Join?

Obviously, we wish you could join. If you can’t I’d love for you to join me on another trip at some point in the future.
